Description
“In the silence and sacred atmosphere of the holy places we visit, the heart naturally turns to God. Many pilgrims experience deep moments of prayer, clarity in their spiritual journey, and even life-changing encounters with God. The pilgrimage itself becomes a journey inward, helping the seeker to realign with their spiritual calling.”
Lebanon a land where mountains, saints, and ancient faith traditions meet—invites you on a unique journey that blends history, spirituality, and inner peace.
Rooted in some of the oldest Christian traditions in the world, Lebanon unfolds a sacred landscape of monasteries, hermitages carved into rock, and holy valleys shaped by centuries of prayer. From secluded mountain sanctuaries to majestic basilicas overlooking the sea, this is a land where history, devotion, and breathtaking natural beauty are woven into a living pilgrimage experience.
Our home during this journey will be Notre Dame du Mont, a peaceful guesthouse known for its panoramic mountain views, its on-site church for daily meditation, and its quiet, unpolluted setting. From this serene base, we will explore Lebanon’s most meaningful spiritual sites, guided by a renowned travel agency and—where enriching—accompanied by knowledgeable local priests who will help illuminate the stories behind the saints, monasteries, and shrines we visit.
Walking in the Footsteps of Saints
Lebanon is the homeland of remarkable saints who shaped Christian spirituality through their simplicity, prayer, and profound faith. On this pilgrimage, we will encounter:
- St. Charbel in Annaya, whose hermitage and tomb continue to draw seekers from around the world.
- St. Rafka in Jrebta, a testament to patient suffering united with divine love.
- St. Nimatullah Al-Hardini in Kfifan, the gentle teacher and monk of luminous wisdom.
- The early Maronite Patriarchates in Mayfouk and the ancient monastic sites of Hardine, where caves, ruins, and sanctuaries echo centuries of prayer.
Here, pilgrims can breathe the same mountain air that sustained these holy men and women and experience the living continuity of their presence.
Between Nature, Prayer, and Sacred History
Lebanon’s spiritual landscape is inseparable from its natural beauty. In Bekaa Kafra, the highest inhabited village in Lebanon, we will visit the birthplace of St. Charbel and walk among the majestic Cedars of God, whose silent strength has inspired prophets and mystics for millennia.
The pilgrimage continues into the Qadisha Valley, cradle of early monasticism, where the Monastery of Mar Antonios Kozhaya invites pilgrims into an atmosphere of deep contemplation. Whether standing at an altar, walking a forest path with japa mantra, or visiting ancient grottoes, every moment offers an encounter with holiness that is both intimate and universal.
A Journey of Community, Reflection, and Renewal
This pilgrimage is not only a tour of sacred sites—it is a journey inward. With opportunities for daily meditation, shared prayer, and one Mass celebrated in English, the days unfold in a rhythm that honors spiritual depth and sangha unity.
Moments of cultural exploration—such as wandering through historic Byblos, discovering Beirut’s Christian landmarks, or enjoying a seaside walk in Batroun—balance the program with fresh inspiration and joy.
The retreat day and closing thanksgiving gathering create space for integration, allowing pilgrims to absorb the graces of the journey and reconnect with their spiritual calling.
Included: Meals (vegetarian/vegan breakfast, lunch snacks, and dinner with soft drinks), accommodation at Notre Dame du Mont – Fatqa, private transportation, a Lebanese tour director, local site experts where required (Baalbek, main religious sites), round-trip airport transfers, and daily bottled water.

Lebanon – A Land of Living Spiritual History
Lebanon is a country of remarkable cultural and spiritual depth, and one of the oldest continuously inhabited regions in the world. For Christianity in particular, it holds a very special place: early Christian communities, monasteries, and hermitages have been preserved here in a living tradition that continues to this day.
The mountains, valleys, and monasteries we will visit are not only historical landmarks, but places of living prayer and devotion, deeply connected with saints such as St. Charbel, St. Rafka, and St. Nimatullah Al-Hardini. Their presence is still very much felt in the everyday spiritual life of the people.
Lebanon is also known for its warm hospitality and openness. Encounters are often personal, heartfelt, and marked by a genuine generosity and interest in connection.
Food & Daily Life
Lebanese cuisine offers a rich abundance of naturally vegetarian and vegan dishes, based on fresh vegetables, legumes, herbs, olive oil, and traditional mezze. The meals during our journey will be light, nourishing, and well suited to support both the physical pilgrimage and the inner process.
Arrival
The journey begins at Beirut International Airport, where participants will be personally welcomed and picked up by our local team and transferred together to our guesthouse in the mountains. From there, the entire journey unfolds in a well-organized and supportive group setting.
